Search for Sex: Google knows what you´re "googling" for!

Google knows a lot. Especially after introducing Google Trends. Even search results are becoming less useful in terms of quality at least Google knows who is searching for what on the internet!

amojoo examinated 200 search results for "sex shop" (Sept.2006) and only found 69 real shops. The other 113 results were either double, dead links, or just not helpful. Except you´re interested in figuring out first what a sex shop is by definition (wikipedia)...

More accurate with results seems "Google-Trends". Real interesting is the data concerning sex. Not only for google. Every second: $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography, 28,258 Internet users are viewing pornography, and 372 Internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines. The pornography industry is larger than the revenues of the top technology companies combined: Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo!, Apple, Netflix and EarthLink!

When typing "porn" into the Google search engines currently six UK towns appear in the top ten of places around the globe! The "porn" Top Ten is: 1. Milton Keynes; 2. Sheffield; 3. Birmingham; 4. Manchester; 5. Edinburgh; 6. Thames Ditton; 7. Dublin; 8. Melbourne; 9. Auckland; 10. Sydney. South Africa is Number One if you go by country.

Google Trends makes it possible for everybody to look up various search terms, and then get a proportionate rank of world or cities where users logging on from PCs in those areas have requested the specific search words or string:
