Bridgette Kerkove's biography
Two years and some 400 sex scenes after entering the business, and one year after being named AVN's Best New Starlet, Bridgette Kerkove is still pinching herself over the good fortune of it all. "I just love where I'm at in my life right now," says the blonde, blue-eyed, 23-year-old beauty with the penchant for extremely wild and nasty sex (like the 103 chopsticks - yes, you're reading correctly, chopsticks - she takes up her superbly-shaped shitter in Leisure Times' Pussy and Ass Stretching). "How could I not? It's the easiest job in the world. And the most fun. I get to fuck for money and be a celebrity with fans who wait in line for an hour just to get an autograph and on top of that I get an award. Hello?"
Entering the business in January 1999 at the urging of her husband, sometimes-performer Skeeter ("He loves to watch me"), the suburban Los Angeles native jumped in with both feet, or in her case, both holes, performing a d.p. for her second-ever scene.
Many more of those have followed. As have double-anals, double-vaginals, triple penetrations, male and female gangbangs and anal fistings (with Kylie Ireland in Video Team's No Man's Land 32; check out the Euro version). But Kerkove is more than just a no-holes-barred sexual dynamo. She's done more than 80 features as well, including Wicked's Dream Quest and Extreme's In the Days of Whore. "After the first month you're like a pro when you've done, like, 25 scenes," she says with a laugh. "But the first month, you're scared, like 'I don't know anybody. Who are these people?' But then you find that 'Wow, this (the adult fraternity) is such a family.' And everyone's so nice." Kerkove says she's constantly in demand for shoots in part because of her reputation as a gal who loves her work. "(Producers) just kept calling and calling and calling, 'cause 'Wow, here's a girl who doesn't cry when she does anal,' she says with another chuckle. "'She's actually getting off on it.'" Indeed, midway through this interview, she fields a call from yet another producer, agreeing to yet another project. Don't, however, ask her to do a scene depicting violence against women.
"I don't like that," she says bluntly. "My take on this business is pro-women and pro-sex. Do what gets you off. Granted, I can fuck my ass with my fist. But at the same time, I'm enjoying myself. It's through cumming and getting off on it." But didn't she, for all intents and purposes, do a rape scene for Thomas Zupko's Whore?
"I agreed only because I didn't know what I was going to be shooting," Kerkove explains. "I was taken off guard. And it was violent. And it was a rape scene. And I said to myself, 'Whoa, I have never shot anything like this before.' I'm not saying it was a horrible experience by any means. It was a total learning experience.
And from what I hear, it turned out fabulous." (See the In the Days of Whore Spotlight Pick review elsewhere in this issue. -- Ed.) While freelancing has worked out well for her, enabling her to rack up those 400 scenes, she recently signed a non-exclusive contract with Jill Kelly Productions to do her first series, Bridgette's Hellions, a feature line that will have her playing the devil's daughter. Evil never looked so delicious. It's a career move she's very excited about, and one that signals her desire to grow beyond being merely a performer. "Look, I just shot 400 scenes in two years," she notes. "I think I've proved that point. Now I'm totally headed into the production end and really coming up in the business as far as being able to get credit. Because so many scenes that I've done - 90 percent at least - are from my own mind or my husband's mind in collaboration with the director. Now we're going to be able to get those credits. And to write scripts and be the producers of these projects…
