About "effective" Pheromones

Pheromones are natural chemicals which play an important role in sexual communication. They are a naturally occurring in all insects, all animals, and in humans. For over 20 years, universities, many scientist's and the media have done research and investigations regarding the power of pheromones.

The attractive powers of pheromones have often been exaggerated - not least by advertisers trying to sell pheromone-based scents and sprays which they claim will make men irresistible to women: "Use pheromones and you will get all women you want!"

It sounds ridigolous that these "human sex pheromones" would be the key to get girls at first, but think about the guy who´s with the hot girl you want, chances are he's about as average looking as can be, has a bland personality, isn't rich, and doesn't drive an great car, yet he gets the pleasure whenever he wants. It seems to be a mystery why such a hot girl would want to be with him, but this is actually the norm, not the exception, isn´t it?

Women are indeed highly sensitive to male pheromones, particularly around ovulation. Recent research has shown that some men just naturally produce more pheromones than others. And studies have shown that the pheromones can have a significant effect in "naturally attracting" females. Seems a little bit unfair, because guess who that hot girl you crave is going to choose subconciously?

Ok, not all male pheromones are not equally attractive, so somebody who´s producing more pheromones naturally has not necessarily an advantage. The male pheromone androstenone for example is not the same as androstenol. Androstenol is the scent produced by fresh male sweat, and is attractive to females during ovulation.

Well, not all females. A new Swedish study showed that women who are also attracted to girls react differently to powerful sexual chemicals than straight ones do. Also heterosexual women perceive  androstenone as highly unpleasant when less fresh!

You see the effectivness of pheromones relies on so many factors that it´s hard to tell whether they have an impact or not.
